Starting problems with R25493 Developer's Build and 2.2.1 Stable
Mistakanista:
Hi,
I'm starting to get really despereate, I hope you guys can help me.
At first I downloaded the 2.2.1 stable version from this site, installed it and it gave me the hardware acceleration bug. After trying to solve it by switching the colour depth to 16 bit I tried the other fix that was suggested (expanding the atioglxx.dl_ from the 7.9 catalyst driver), and now it just opens up the console, a small window appears and then everything dissappears as if nothing happened.
Then I downloaded the recend R25493 Developer's Build, which at first also had the hardware acceleration problem, but in addition it also wanted me to delete a certain file (FS_RemoveFile: remove C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\UFOAI/2.3-dev/base/keys.cfg). The problem is that this path simply doesn't exist, and a computer search couldn't find it neither, and copying the atioglxx.dll into the game directory just produces the same thing that happens with the stable version.
Here are my specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit)
Ati x800 xt 256mb (latest drivers)
1 Gig RAM
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Directx is at version 9.26 (latest)
Tried turning off Aero - nothing.
Tried several compatibility options - nothing.
I really have no clue on what to do. Hope this is enough information.
On a side note, I downloaded both versions from links I got from this site.
Aesten:
You might find this build much more suitable.

Destructavator tends to drop a new installer every few days at the maximum.
Mistakanista:
Sadly, the new installer didn't change anything, but thanks for the help anyway.

I have been having a similar problem with the game crashing at the start due to "no hardware acceleration detected". I downloaded both the latest stable version as well as the new developer version, both have the same problem.
From this thread ( http://ufoai.ninex.info/forum/index.php?topic=2040.0 ) The game in both versions (2.2 and 2.3) gives the same problem at 32 and 16 bit color. On the 3rd page of that thread, I also tried adding to the command line:
C:\Program Files\UFOAI-2.2\ufo.exe" +set vid_fullscreen 1 +set r_mode 6 +set snd_init 1
When this happens on both versions, at both 32 and 16bit color, the game tries to load and my monitor goes black for a while, but ends up crashing with the same error message as before.
I have:
GeForce GTX 260 (newest drivers)
Win7 64bit
8GB RAM
Intel Core2 Duo 3.16GHz
