Error loading game

Hello.

I downoladed this game in version 2.3 r29905 .
i played five days , its fantastic game.
Now i try load my savegames ,but  all is broken.
i see communicate: Error loading game.
In consoles i see :  error:Feilure in loading the xml.data!
                          unknown command "game timestop"-wasn't sent to server"

I cant load noone saves.
Help me please .

I think the savegame breaking branch was merged after that. You won't be able to use your old savegames anymore.

There is a bug in that version of the game where if a certain thing happens, saves get corrupted. A corrupted save cannot be fixed. Compiling a newer version for yourself would get rid of the problem.

Yes.

You need build 30008 or newer. Easiest way is to compile the game yourself from source. You can find the link to the instructions in muton's sig. Just download the package, install Tortoise SVN, update the source, then run the script with all default settings. It will take a few hours, but then you wil have the newest version.

Alternatively, you could wait some time for the stable 2.3 release, where this problem won't be an issue.

Hi.

In fact merging savegame_break branch back didn't break anything like that. The game at/after r29917 simply doesn't see the old-style savegames so cannot give you such error message.

So if you haven't upgraded your copy (still at r29905) your saves didn't break due to this change.

That must be another bug like this. The linked one is already fixed in the current version, but as we said old saves won't show up in newer version of the game.

No. Broken savegames stay broken even after the fix. You need to load an earlier uncorrupted save. If you don't have any, start a new campaign.

Oh yes, if it's the assertion failure bug, you can work around it. Just select the moving aircraft, assign a destination to them again and things will work.
