About stun rod and bloodspider in ufopedia

...unfortunately during the development it came to a tragic accident concerning a stun rod, a tamagochi and the wrong assumption, tamagochis are fed with electrical energy. Lets say, this incedent was fatal for the tamagochi :-P

Okay, seriously: It is possible to first research the stun rod and meet the bloodspider afterwards. If the player is X-Com experienced and values the early alien research, it is likely, too. I met on the bloodspider the very next mission after researching the stun rod (in version 2.1) myself. Well, but since I met my first scout vessel after grounding three harvesters it didn't bother me too much.

Currently on my very hard campaign I'm approaching the end of June and I'm only now starting to see Ortnoks. No bloodspiders yet, despite a lot of terror missions.

I have a stun rod, but I have not seen bloodspider. Why is the wiki says about bloodspider, but unexplored types of aliens called "unknown" - inconsistencies.
