they use something nastier in SOF now with caseless ammunition.. if you care about weight all that much ..

Prototype. Hilariously impractical, which is why it was never adopted as anything other than (you guessed it!) a vehicle-mounted weapon. You lose the 'argument'.

First define what a chaingun is...

... if that word brings to mind something out of Doom then I don't think that word means what you think it means...  ;D
