Wasn't sure if it's a game problem, or a glitch with the installer in deciding where to post - but thanks anyway MCR  :)

Probably an installer thing. Working libs should be included in contrib/dlls/ in SVN at all times, so any installer should use those libs. It is possible that the libs in SVN aren't working, though, so stay alert.

Well assuming that the lib goes with the others in UFOAI-2.3-dev (I extracted it from balasar's 7zip file to there) the game can now start, but when I load a saved game, the console is flooded with an error message (see attached) which eventually finishes in an Assertion Failure :(
