Using Framsticks

(1/1)

Zox613:
Is there anybody who have thinked to use Framsticks to create alien creatures like no ones on earth (ex: five or three leged ones).

The rolling medusa (genotype called roller)  :o would make a good alien creature or tank.

Here is the link to this free/shareware 3d artificial life evoluting program (wich include, if i remind correctly, 3d structure, metabolism, sensors, neural network and genetic code for alls what can evolve) : www.framsticks.com

You need a good level in artificial life to use it (better than mine !  :'(), but i think this idea wouldn't be lost...

Destructavator:
Hmmm...  This looks interesting, although I'm having trouble finding license information, so I'm not sure if we can use this for UFO: AI or not (this game is GPL).  The framsticks software apparently has several components, and from what I see at a quick glance most of it is free, some of it open-source with an unknown license, and just one part shareware.

This might have potential, but I can't guarantee we could use it.

Zox613:
About license.... :-\
I think aliens structures and moves created with framstick are intelectual properties of their creators, like pictures mades with photoshop, texts with word, etc.   ::)
(tell me if i wrong)

BTAxis:
So long as you don't have to actually use anything of the program's code or components, it should be fine. Suppose you can evolve a creature and export it as a usable model format, I believe it can be licensed appropriately.

Destructavator:
Cool.  I would give this software a test drive, but right now I'm busy backing things up to replace this hard drive that's dying.

I'll try to remember this topic though.
