UFO Impacter

Have another strange idea for alien attack against phalanx base : an UFO impacter (Unknown Falling Object  :P) for reach subterran installations.
May be a new type of attack when player can intercept all other type of UFO in adjanced saved games (nearby the end).

Well, AFAIK aliens don't have some kind of inertial dampeners. Without them, all that would be left of alien team when the impacter lands would be red jelly.

Ya that 's right (but i'm not sure the jelly was red), maybe some robots like alien spiders can stand it...

Hm, really, if it was reality, aliens probably wouldn't bother and, if PHALANX base is located, they'd just blast that whole thing along with a few square miles around.

But, it's a game. Aliens just gotta give player a chance.

Aliens can "zap"-blast whole earth surface  :o, but they don't!?... :-\
The idea of an impacter to attack subterran structures was fun to me... ;D
The impacter was full of alien robots or equiped with hydro-tanks that strongly reduce  effect of acceleration (i have seen a movie where US air force tested semi-rigid hydro-armor better than air-presure suits for accelerations but not for moving).

OOOH, just use it as a Kinetic Kill Vehicle and get it over with.

To be specific:  Have it warp in in high Jupiter orbit, then slingshot around that and fall sunward.  Probably either just falls on earth, or course corrects to land on a base or city. 

You will need new maps for bombed areas.

IIRC, the devs have said so and also that they have a lot of other stuff that needs to be done. This is pretty low on their to-do lists, I guess.
