thank you

Hello,

I m a X-com TFTD veteran and really loved X-com a lot.
However I had stopped playing computer games around 5 years ago because it became to boring. Even WoW bored me.

By googling around I recently found UFO:AI. Gave it a try. And.. I have to say.. IT ROCKED MY FACE OFF!!!
For a start, it is even MORE fun than the old TFTD, and has already TONS of great features and cool things I always wished would have had been there in the old times.
In my opinion the graphics are really MUCH cooler than I would expect from such a game, dont have to hide at all. Lots of details, cool maps, cool aliens. I played it through till the end right away and thinking now trying a harder level or giving the multiplayer function a try.

I didnt really mind that is was a bit unpolished here and there. Not a big deal.
Open Source IS great.

Many thanks to all of you who are or were involved in any way creating this GREAT project.
May God give you a gold star or two for that in heaven. ;D

Hi guys,

I am in a similar situation as the TS. It appears this game is the only I would like to play atm :)
Played X-com TFTD a lot before. It was a legendary game.

But I hesitant what to do now. There is 2.2.1 version but as I see it is an old one and everyone waits for 2.3.

What do you think, should I wait and start from 2.3? Or the svn version is playable enough now?
I don't want to start 2.2.1 and then to start again when the new version is out :(

If you want to play a full campaign, use 2.2.1. eg. at standard difficulty level.
Depending on how much you play, 2.3 might be released right after you finished that campaign.
You can then play a second campaign with 2.3 at hard level.

Alternatively you can play skirmish games with current trunk and start your campaign once 2.3 is released.

I can't recommend to start a serious campaign with current trunk.

The svn version is stable enough to play IMHO. However we will break savegame compatibility before releasing it.
