Idea - official UFO: AI Spokesman / Head Hunter
(1/1)
misiek:
Hello,
I would like to share with you with my idea for new job in ufo: ai team.
What such person should be responsible for:
* Promoting Ufo: AI in internet - on various forums (with answering to user questions) and sites. This includes monthly updates and information about official releases.
* Creating and publishing job offers for new programmers/artists/testers etc.
Requirements for this job:
* Good skills with english language (would be great if such person would know another languages).
* Good writing skills.
* Close to development team - such person should know vision and roadmap for ufo: ai project. Also should know what to include in monthly updates (development team should help in this)
* Ability to run wip releases - for taking screenshots/recording videos of new features
* Free time for doing it
Monthly updates and information about new releases:
* should include screenshots and videos (if it's possible) of new features. I think its more interesting to people than pure text.
* should be prepared once and pasted everywhere where topics was created
Examples of places to post monthly updates and information about new releases:
* moddb (there is already ufo: ai there, but information is outdated)
* retro remakes forum (i started topic there: http://retroremakes.com/forum/index.php/topic,614.0.html)
* strategy core forum http://www.strategycore.co.uk/forums/
* xcomufo forum http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/
* tigsource forum http://forums.tigsource.com/
* freegamedev forum http://forum.freegamedev.net/
Would be also nice, if information about official releases could also be included on main pages (not only on forums) of those sites (like http://news.retroremakes.com/ , http://tigsource.com/ , http://www.strategycore.co.uk/). This would require asking those sites redactors.
Examples of places to look for new programmers/artists:
* http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/forum.asp?forum_id=8
* http://www.devmaster.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43
* http://blenderartists.org/forum/index.php
* http://forum.freegamedev.net/index.php?t=thread&frm_id=7
* http://sourceforge.net/people/
Example of updates and looking for help from parpg project (google for parpg and you will find many more sites where they are announcing/looking for help):
http://forum.freegamedev.net/index.php?t=msg&th=2315
So... What do you think? Does it makes sense? Could ufo: ai benefit from this? I would like to hear especially voice from dev team.
And most important - would someone be interested in taking such job?
Duke:
misiek,
would *you* apply for such a job ?
misiek:
Hello,
