Reserved TU's for stand/crouch
« on: June 10, 2009, 01:46:40 am »
Thought I had it there, since thegame hadn't crached in about 12 turns, but ...

ANYWAY... Can the Stand/Crouch reserve button reserve one additional TU for direction change?  Maybe it was just chance, but I was doing a lot better at getting soldiers to end up facing the way I wanted them to in 2.2.1.  In struggling through these battlescapes, I've used the crouch reserve, but sometimes I still end up with someone who won't play ball and faces in the wrong  direction.  Without any TU's to change their direction except of course to remove the reaction fire.

Nightranger, which version are u using? 2.2.1 or 2.3-dev (revision?).

I think u will just have to plan in advance for the 'facing direction' issue. Not very wise to further add another 'direction' counter..... Then again, i dunno. It might be nice, though cumbersome. I guess the current movement is nice enuf... though there are some bugs with stand / crouch moving and switching b/w the 2's issues. Yupz.

Actually Odie, I'm using your 24618 build.  I see your point with another counter.  I was thinking of just adding 1 more TU when the Crouch/Stand button is selected.  But the difference is the same.  I can store 1 TU in my head when moving the guys around.  I'm starting to get the hang of this 2.3 now, anyway. (LOL)   I finally got through a mission without crashing back to Geoscape.

I proposed an improvement for pathfindind so it "guesses" better where to end up facing on the end of the movement  here, but the proposal didnt seem very popular. :P

Just whatch ur time units on info bar for an easier micromanagement in case its not implemented.
