2.3-dev svn20746 - Texture/Lighting issue?

(1/2) > >>

Spyro:
I have what appears to be a lighting problem with the most recent svn revision. I have tried the campaign and a number of the skirmish maps and except for a small area of the large farm map, all of the maps result in the objects in the game being completely blacked out (civilians, alians, etc). I tweaked the settings and pretty much tried almost every option available in the Video settings box before reverting back to the default, but nothing worked - everything resulted in the same problem. I get this problem on two machines, and aside from the cpu brand and chipsets they have similar hardware

I am running:
Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 64-bit
Nvidia 177.80 drivers (Cards are 7600GS & 7900GS)

My versions of 2.3 and 2.2.1 are self-compiled. Everything is up to date on both machines. I am able to play 2.2.1 with no problems.

Ditto, same here, I see it on my Windows machine with the same revision, blackened out characters and even the dropship.

Sometimes this type of thing happens in SVN versions, while something is being changed or worked on...

Mattn:
known - and i'm working on this issue - it's the mesh lighting. for some reasons the bsp recursion isn't working for the mesh light resolving....

DuKe2112:
Well, there seems to be also a problem with the recent nvidia driver, but that results in over lighting insteat of darkness.

Spyro:
Thank you for the reply Mattn.

DuKe2112, did you try the gamma slider in the video options?
