damn, why do you not tell what exactly erroe messages was? I use POEditor with W7 and have not any problems.

Yoz Kildor,

Chill.... I know probably u r from russia or that region, but still, do mind the lingo used.... "Damn" is not well received esp in the local region i stay in, and is easily associated with a strong retaliation word as close as f***. Besides, our dear friend there may be new to forum (its his 2nd post only), and he is perhaps unfamilar with how error reports / help can be seeked.

To Xracer,

What would really help the good folks here help u faster would be in future to provide:

1) System used (Which u have, Win 7, which is crappy IMO. Lol)
2) POEdit's version (That might help too).
3) The exact error at different stages (If u are lazy to type, juz do a screen shot of it.) - This will really help isolate and narrow the problem down.
4) State if this problem repeats? (I am assuming it does, since it frustrates u).

PS: Just being curious, do u have another system (Maybe winxp) which can run this POEditor? U can try it, and see if it repeats? If it does not, maybe u wanna use tat? I am not too sure if POEditor is exactly compatible 100% with Win 7, though Kildor reports it works for him. :D

Updates with more info, pls, ok? :D

Toodles

Hello,

I have a small issue.

Looking into the translation of the file with Poedit the system seems to limit the text to line 15000 i however looking at the doc with a different editor see that document goes up to line 17424.

I mean is no big issue i can still do the translation.

Another small issue and maybe is not an issue at all is that every time i save the doc poedit tell me there are  errors

21:27:47: ...\Desktop\ufoai-es.po:17386: end-of-line within string
21:27:47: ...\Desktop\ufoai-es.po:17386:5: syntax error
21:27:47: ...\Desktop\ufoai-es.po:17387: end-of-line within string

maybe someone can give me an insight. I have checked the lines and i see nothing wrong with it.

Hmmm....

Maybe somewhere in the thread this got lost but in any case, those are the errors i receive they are not detrimental and i just simply put them aside now since it just seems to be simple syntax missing.

About my specs
1. I use Vista (Home) which i hate but anyway that is another issue.
2. POedit 1.4.2
3. the error is listed above and it happens during save. (And no i was not too lazy to type it, as you can see from above ;) )
4. It is very consistent and always occurs during save. By the way i am working with the Spanish translation (es)

About another system well... my other laptop got a virus and I have not had time too look at it I have XP on it, and my desktop mobo fried during a thunderstorms (XP 64) and i have not had any time to fix it.

damn, why do you not tell what exactly erroe messages was? I use POEditor with W7 and have not any problems.
if you were referring to my I think my previous post where I listed the errors should suffice.

@xracer: Make sure that every marker (like %s, %i, \n, \t) in the msgid (the original) appear in the msgstr (the translated).

You may not find the exact line number it refers to, then look for the first before it. Strings can have Enters (\n) and that adds to the line number.

1. install Poedit (you should know how do it in your system).
2. take /trunk/src/po/ufoai.pot, and rename it to ufoai-ua.po.
3. Open it in poedit and start translation.
4. Send it to SF patch tracker.

5. you also can open http://ufoai.ninex.info/wiki/index.php/Translating and read it.

Good luck.

2. take /trunk/src/po/ufoai.pot, and rename it to ufoai-ua.po.

It's better using 'Create new catalog based on pot file' menu IMHO.

Just asking, am I required to tell you here that I'm going to start translating the wiki msgids to Finnish? Or would it have been okay if I had just started to translate without telling you?

I have poedit and ufoai-en.po. Are there any ones that I shouldn't translate?

You can get ufoai-en.po or better ufoai.pot, rename it to ufoai-tk.po (I don`t know exact code for turkish ISO code), and next start to translate.

Also, you have to translate *_txt in wikipedia, ask mattn, or me, or anyone other translators to add needed columns if you can`t do it for yourself.
