Little experiment for cinematic - air combat

Destructavator:
There's actually three layers of clouds, the thick overcast ones below the camera, one above and another very high up - any chance you could be more specific as to which layer looks off?  Or is it all of them?  I agree these clouds aren't completely realistic, I just not sure exactly what to tweak to make them look better.

Then again, these were made with a free cloud generator for blender - it might simply be a case of "you get what you pay for" although I've still been trying to tweak them here and there.  As I said, Terragen 2 looks terrific by comparison but costs hundreds of dollars.

Thanks for commenting, though.

ghosta:
The problem is that there are clouds above, then nothing then clouds below.
The clouds above look quite good and can be used as some sort of background, but the clouds below are too bordered. It would look more realistic if the area of the bottom ones would be higher (reach into the current nothingness). Then the size of the clouds should be decreased too. Just until they dont look that cut off.

I dont know if it is possible with the generator, but it is already some great work you have done so far.

How's this?

BTW, I'm also waiting for Winter and the others to comment - once I get this cloudscape looking nice I'm planning a pleasant surprise.

ghosta:
Is it possible to make the interceptor fly inside the clouds?

Destructavator:
Yes, it can be rendered to look like it is flying in and out of clouds quite easily.
