Game crashes while starting UFO crash site in ubuntu - solved

Hi,

first: this is a great game and I appreciate all the work you put into it.

However, I struggle with some crashes in Ubuntu 8.1 (UFOAI 2.2). When I try to attend an UFO crash site the game crashes and I am back on my desktop. I am using an old ATI 9700 graphicscard but at the moment I have no idea about the used driver. If no one of you guys has an idea what can be the reason, I will try to use the debug mode to get some information about the crash.

Can someone help me or experinced similar benaviour? Is this a bug or are crash sites not implemented yet?

are you sure you are using 2.2? if yes - try to switch to 2.2.1

Sorry, you´re right. It is 2.2.1 from the repository mentioned in the download section

I found a possible solution. In the antarctica thread it is mentioned that this problem may be caused by a missing music package. I will try this out and let you know....

Ok. that does he trick. I installed the music package and everything is fine now. May be it helps someone in the future.
