Can you please be more specific about what errors/problems you have?

It starts off really slow, and only slows down until it stops, and within a few minutes, I get a message saying the server has reset the connection

Which codeblocks package did you grab to compile the game?

If I remember correctly I tried using this one: http://ufoai.streetofeyes.com/Codeblocks.zip

Hmmm...  I just tested the last link I posted, it downloaded quickly and just fine for me, so I know the file is there and the link works.  I'm wondering if it has something to do with your location - I myself and the hosting company I use for my site are both in the United States - What nation are you from?

I also know that in the past my hosting company has had service outages from time to time, although such outages don't usually last more than several hours, it might be something you could just try again at some point - Over the last few days there has been nasty winter weather here in the U.S. that has resulted in over 1 mil. people without power at one point, I don't know if that made any difference.

Also, quite a few people download these development builds, it is possible many people were trying to grab the same file at once.

I don't know what to suggest other than to try again at a different time, or ask Muton to post a link for a full install package.

I'll also check settings on the control panel for my website later, and see if anything jumps out at me as being wrong.

And for the other issue:

Honestly I still don't remember how I fixed this issue (I had the very same problem before myself) when it happened for me.  If I recall later what I did, I'll post another reply, otherwise you can post a separate thread asking for help with compiling, and one of the coders can help you.  Sorry I don't have more information at the moment...  (I'm actually not one of the project coders here.)

Okay, thanks. In the meantime I think I'll make a separate thread.

It would seem I solved my problem. I just had to use MingW with gcc 3.4.5 instead of 3.4.2...

Maps have been fully re-built (all of them) before uploading this one.  I didn't have time to even briefly test the installer though, so I don't know what does and doesn't work.

I have also created an installer. Please use it only(!) if you fail to download the installer from Destrutavator's site. Thank you.

I've never used Filefront, but I'm currently uploading 22648 to my site, stay tuned...

(I should have a link in the morning.)

I use Filefront for all my file-hosting needs.
When is "in the morning"?

...Right now - I slept in, and where I am it is about 9:14 AM.

http://www.destructavator.com/public/ufoai_2_3dev_r22648_m22637.zip

I'm in the United States, and so is my web hosting company - another potential reason you may have had difficulty downloading binaries if you don't live close to where I am.  I've actually seen a lot of people download these binaries and not have any issues, so your location and your ISP might be where some of the difficulty comes from, I suspect.

For these reasons, yes, it would be a good idea to have mirrors or other download locations.  By the way, I have no objection to anyone grabbing these binaries and uploading them to additional locations, even if they can't (or simply don't have the patience to learn how to) compile the game from SVN.

Edit: I'll also look into FileFront and do a little research on them.

I've uploaded an installer to FileFront (thanks for the tip vedrit). The installer was here (r22726).

EDIT: Installer installs non-working game. Please don't use it until a resolution is found. Sorry for the inconvenience.
EDIT 2: Removed file from FileFront.

Nice - how about that, a better way to upload and share development builds, so I don't have to use my website.  This brings to mind another point - I'm wondering if Filefront could be used for Mac and Linux binaries as well?  I know people have been looking for test builds for other platforms, too.  Yes, thanks for the tip.
