ufoai2.2.1-win32 - crashing

(1/2) > >>

steel:
Hi.

I downloaded ufoai 2.2.1 for win32 (actually I'm using vista x64) and I have the following problems:
1. I can't change resolution from basic 1024x768 to 1680x1050. If I change resolution and use the loupe icon game crash.
2. I can't switch to full screen. If I check the appropriate checkbox game crashes.

Thanks for any advice.

PS: It looks like a great game, like the first two classic x-coms, great work guys.

Try to start it from a command line with parameters:

--- Code: ---ufo +set vid_mode 18 +set vid_fullscreen 1

--- End code ---

the answer to this was also in the wiki FAQ, which has lots of other handy tips too. in general, please read that before asking a question here.

Greetings,
I've gone through the UFO WIKI but I was not able to get the game running to my expectations.

I run Vista x64, with a 16:10 monitor and GeForce 8800 GT.
The game starts in full screen mode by itself. However I am not able to make it run windowed, it crashes when trying so. I can only run it windowed in "windowed-safe-mode".
Another problem is resolution. I can't make the game run 16:10 (in my case 1680x1050). When I try to change it, game crashes (even in the windowed safe mode).

I have tried to run the game from windows command line. With various parameters described here on the forum or on WIKI.
I have edited the configuration file accordingly to what I would want the game to run in.

So far no success. Does not matter how I run the game/how I edit the configuration file it always starts full screen and in default resolution.

Could anyone provide me with any kind of help? Or advice what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks & Regards,
Lorco

Make sure to edit your config, not the config in the game dir - the config in the game is the default config. the config in your app data is the config you should modify.
