Reproduceable game crash (WinXP/UFOAI V2.2.1)

Hi.

Discovered a game crash when the firebird-class dropship returns to its home base. I have a save game, made after a successful in the US. Whenever the dropship returns to its base in North-Africa the game crashes.

In case it is helpful i attach the savegame.

Thanks for this great development, i really enjoy playing UFOAI.

thanks for reporting.

there have been a lot of fixes around this part of the code in trunk (where 2.3 is being developed).

sorry this does not help you finish your 2.2.1 campaign. (I think savegames are not compatible any more - and anyhow 2.3 is probably even less stable ATM).

well, if you want to playtest 2.3. you can use svn to the latest version, compile it yourself and play.

all the instructions are on the wiki.

the codeblocks project files make it very easy.

if you get stuck, ask here or on the IRC channel.

Have the same crash, I suspect. A firebird dropship went to investigate a scout that my other ships shot down. After completing the mission successfully, the game reports that two items were retrieved from the wreckage: alien materials and an alien propulsion system. As soon as the firebird lands at its base, an error appears:

"Assertion failed!

Program: ufo.exe
File: Z:\dev\ufoai\branches\ufoai_2.2\sr...\cl_aliencont.c
Line: 203

Expression: *cargo[ i ].alientype"

No matter what I do to the ship, the game always crashes as soon as it returns to its base. Seems that the game can't handle shot down alien cargo.

This sounds like one of those bugs that is fixed in trunk. Try a 2.3-dev test installer and see if you can reproduce this bug.
