problems with graphics in vista
« on: May 30, 2008, 07:50:02 pm »
I just installed the program today and am very excited.  I love Xcom from back in the old DOS days

The program installed and ran fine (installed the newest release) however, I'm having graphics problems it appears.  The graphics for the ships, soldiers, etc are screwed up - I only see parts of them.  Which is really just an inconvienience.  However, the graphics for the equipment to equip soldiers prior to a mission are completely invisible - the equipment is there since I can mouse over each item and it pops up a text box with its identification but since I can't see them it makes it almost impossible to equip all my soldiers.

Anyone else having this problem? I'm running it on a IBM thinkpad T60 with the basic intel graphics chip.

Thanks

oh one more thing - I've already tried messing with texture resolution cap - moved from high to low.  Also played with texture compression (turned off and on - no effect.

also tried window mode vs full screen - no effect.
