Trouble with video card

Can anyone tell me why I can run the demo with no problems at all and when I attempt to run the 2.2 (either version), I have problems with the graphics? I am running a Gateway with A Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family. The soldiers graphics are incomplete and the weapons that are in inventory as well as those being carried are not appearing. This is frustrating as this is the best thing since X Com and plays well in demo mode. I really would like to be able to get this to work properly. Thanks.

Demo? You're not referring to the years-old Xmas tech demo, are you?

As for the rest, there are known issues with intel graphics cards.

Atleast yours runs. I have the same graphics (a Gateway, too!) and it won't even run under Linux. As for now I just use a different machine.

Yeah, it's the chipset. Useless for most games out there

It is actually so annoying that I am going to try to sell the laptop and buy a better system.
