Some graphical issues

Hello,

New to UFO:AI, but allready love it, great game! Here are some graphical issues/bugs I have found todate. Iam using currently the latest 2.2.1 version for Windows.

1. The Mine01 level has some ugly black textures.

2. Geoscape has no city lights Not a bug

3. Clicking Enable head gear with IR-vision on soldier does nothing. Not a bug

4. Changing Sound Effects volume sound does nothing.


My specs:

Windows XP SP3
Intel C2D E8400
Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
2 x 2GB DDR2 800MHz
Club3D 3870 with 8.4 CCC driver
Realtek HD audio with WDM_R186 drivers

1. The Mine01 level has some ugly black textures.

Those aren't textures, they're shadows. The ones in the hut are there because the light entity isn't working (why? I know it's there). The other patch is inside a hill. There's not supposed to be any light there.

Not implemented yet.

This sounds like a bona fide bug. Can someone try this in trunk?

I have one other thing, don't really know if its a bug. The bloodspiders all have a knive floating above them (point up). Is that on purpose?

Thanks for the replies, was just about to write that some of the graphical stuff can also be because of ATI drivers. Anyways thanks for answering my issues throughly!  :)

I left my work computer to compile the map files over the weekend, the computer also has ATI display adapter, so hopefully I can test atleast the shadow issue on monday.

edit:

Forgot to mention one bug, the Ortnok alien outopsy has no picture what so ever. Not a bug.

missing picture is not a bug. we need more artists. feel free to get out your sketchbook.    :)

I have found that with sound effects volume down to zero, shots and kills still have sound. So I'm seconding this as a bug that does happen.

Makes sense that there is no graphics for everything, I keep forgetting that this game is freeware! :)

On the other hand I have some graphical issues with my Ubuntu rig also. All the other graphics seems to work fine, but there is no terrain textures. I updated the game to the latest trunk version and left the machine to compile maps. I'll post screenshots/logs of the issue as soon as the compiling is finished.

I have gotten more and more crashes and terrain textures missing bugs with the latest trunk. I'll download and compile the latest stable 2.2 version and see if these problems occur in it too.

I think that bloodspider thing is part of the game's base/engine; I got bored and replaced soldier models with bloodspider models and they were carrying rifles on their backs.
