RC3: Soldier entered battle with no equipment

All soldier were equipped with armor, weapon, extra clip etc.,
but one of them has no weapons after arrival on the first mission.
(Savegame is available)
Later, he tried to pick up a submachinegun, but could not drop it
into his hand-slot (pistols were ok), even at start of turn with all TU.

I replayed the mission where one soldier got no equipment, and found some
more info:
* Soldier #1 was ok (Equipment in mission matched assigned equipment)
* Soldier #2 only got his armor, no weapons
* Soldier #3 got the equipment that had been assigned to #2
* #4 got the stuff that should have been with #3 ... #8 got the stuff from #7
So most of the men had weapons that didn't fit their attributes,
giving the team a serious handicap.

recommanded workaround: only use the first 8 soldiers from the list

Just to add to the fodder, I have two bases and two drop ships. The first base I have 8 men, about half arrive with no equipment.
Tried the second base drop ship once, all men arrived with equipement.

Did he have anything in his other hand (it seems so...)? SMG is two-handed. Or perhaps you tried to put SMG in his right hand? (Two-handed weapons are put in the left hand, IIRC).
P.S. if your analysis of the equpiment bug is correct we may be just one step from correcting it. Thanks! (Now, who will be the brave one to squash this bug?)
