No free inventory space

Hi, first I want to say that you did a great job, I absolutely love the game. I haven't encountered any serious problems until now. The game started  crashing with Com_AddToInventory: No free inventory space! message. It started in the mission after the one where I captured the first living aliens. In the beginning it happened after I finished a mission with my main team, the game crashed when I killed the last enemy, just before the mission stats message. When I took a less equipped team from a different base, I was able to complete the mission.

In the mission that followed, I encountered the same problem and after some experimenting I found out that I could complete the mission with my main team when I emptied their holsters and half-emptied their backpacks. However, when I tried equipping a team from a different base with the newest weapons and play the mission, the game crashed again.

Between these two missions I was however able to complete a crash-site mission with my fully equipped main team. Recently, the problem has gotten worse, the game started crashing in the inventory window in the base (for example when I was putting pistols back in the holsters) with the same no free inventory space message. And right now, the game has crashed at beginning of a mission.

Is it possible that this happens because I have too many things? I have 8 bases, which I suppose is the maximum because I can't create more. In each of these bases, I have a full team of 8 members - all of them are fully equipped, though only in the main base they have the high-end stuff, and I keep producing new items. I have also played every standard mission and most of the crash-site missions, so I have a lot of alien stuff. I tried selling the things that I don't use and some of the alien stuff but it seems that it haven't worked. Right now, I'm out of ideas and the problem is getting worse.

Here are my computer stats: AMD 1800+, 512 MB RAM, GeForce 4MX
I know it's a bit old but I haven't had any problems with the game until now.

The game version is 2.2 x86 Jan 11 2008 Win32 Release.

Have someone done a patch do fix this problem? I've got the same problem.

same error... i will save you from the long poste. it is the same as the 2ed almost won a battle got out and it enden with this.
