Is the (lack of) range on the Firebird intentional? With two drop tanks and no other equipment, a Firebird is unable to reach every part of the globe, which means that depending on base placement, some missions are unplayable. I've found that a fuelsize of 200000 gives it just enough for global reach, in case this was an oversight and you want some ready numbers.

But you know the trick to equip one Saracen-interceptor with a 'John Rambo' and get him to the battle?

I have found my answer:
Quote from: Winter
Clearly the range of the dropship needs to be increased, it should be able to make it to any spot on the world if given a fuel pod or two.

Regards,
Winter

Patch #1896982 submitted.

Those playing 2.2, you will want to update your base/ufos/aircraftmanagement.ufo anyway. Then, change the fuelsize to 200000.

Which topic was this quote from?  There are still some errors (or new errors!) in the aircraftmanagement.ufo from a quick glance over it.  For example it now states a UFO fighter requires a LARGE hanger!

The link to update your base/ufos/aircraftmanagement.ufo above is not the latest version of the file, but rather one that is "compatible" with 2.2. After that FrancoC's economy patch was applied, so you would want to get the rest of FrancoC's patch too, not just base/ufos/aircraftmanagement.ufo.
