I downloaded sources from sourceforge. I followed wiki instructions. The game runs but some graphics don't appear. I compiled all source and graphics. I tried too with source from svn and graphics form data files. None works. The globe is switched to some big white letters. What can be it?

I would either try the old x-mas release or compile both source and maps from SVN trunk, exactly as advised in the wiki (the Debian article is probably the most detailed). Note however, that the SVN version is work in progress (buggy).

please upload screenshots and show them - please also activate the developer cvar (by typing "developer 1" to console [open console via ^-key]) and send the ufoconsole.log (in base/) over
