Guys,  everytime I've played the new beta, savegame won't work.  The game immediately crashes as soon as I try to save.  Is there something I can do to fix this?  Also, is research implemented in the new version & can we recruit more scientists?  I like those groovy wee guys!

There's a new beta coming out soon, if all goes well. It'll likely work better in that one. Stay tuned.

you can compile the current svn - or wait for the next release candiate - the problem is fixed in svn

see http://ufo.myexp.de/wiki/index.php/Coding for more information

I've successfully compiled an SVN version under Linux yesterday and tried to save a game, it didn't work.

I get a

Couldn't write file.

in the console when i run it at some point, i would guess it is when i try to save the game.

Tried updating the svn version today, but now i can't compile it anymore, guess i'll have to wait and see what happens ^^

This may be one of the reported bugs... Try making the following directories:
  ~/.ufoai/base/save/
and see if it works now.

we need to know which version you use? if it is the windows installer for 2.0RC2 there is currently no trivial fix for this - but this is already fixed in the current codebase (at least it should be fixed - report back, please).

there are two possible solutions for this:
first: http://ufo.myexp.de/wiki/index.php/Dev-CPP
second: just wait for the next release candidate - it is on its way - just a few more days

nevertheless i suggest you the first option.

best regards
