Unable to run beta

Hey i have a probblem where everytime i try to run ufo i just get a blank unresponsive window which slows down my system till it cancels it self, any ideas on whats up?, thanks,

I'm on windows xp home edition, i installed it using the installer it came with i just ran the windows installer and then nothingness, i've tried various download sources to no avail, :s

well i guess it's the game, to be honest i'm not too hot on the whole computer thing, but it seems to install ok then when you come to run the game your presented with unresponsive blank screen

I installed some new drivers for my Radeon the other day, which messed up because I didn't uninstall the old ones first. I had a blank screen then, too. Maybe you should try updating your graphics driver? You will need a working 3D accelerator card that supports OpenGL.

I also have a problem, I've got past the DLLs, but now it tells me that it could not find font f_small? (BTW I'm running on XP prof.)

are you sure, that you use the svn version of the data? please have a look at the wiki and the svn artikels

EH? Svn articles, what pages are you referring to, there's the troubleshooting part for DLLs, but as I said I've done that, there's nothing there about missing fonts.  Is it likely to cause a problem if i install to a different location than the default?

i think you are using the windows binaries from sourceforge.net - they only work with the svn data

Yeah, there's the 0.12 beta. You can find it on the downloads page.

That's what I downloaded, didn't work till I downloaded the DLL pack, I then applied the latest files from the sourceforge pages and applied them, thought that that caused the problem and re-installed the 0.12 version and it still asked for this f_small font

Hello,

no solution for this problem available?
It's the same for me:

- i first installed the "ufoai_0.12beta_installer.exe"
- i then downloaded and copied the dll-package
- finally i downloaded and copied the "ufo_win32_rev1053.zip" files

When i try to start the game i first get a dark screen, then the game crashes to my desktop and an error-window is shown: "...could not find font: f_small"

Any suggestions?

you need to grab the svn data too - see the wiki for more information about this.

or just wait a few hour until the new installer will be available...
