compilation of this dev-cpp project file is currently broken.
is it just for editing the campaign.ufo script?
has it worked recently?
could it just be deleted from the repo?

Not finished. Won't be deleted because I hope you, blondandy, will finish that campaign editor. :P

isnt it a bit pointless?
why not just edit the text files?
BTAxis wrote a long wiki article about changing the whole campaign structure anyway.

i am slow at c (as i guess you noticed), if i took it under my wing, you can be sure that the rest of the game would be finished and polished to a high shine before the editor was ready.
