To further clarify this, let me add:
In what directory was UFO Aftermath installed in?
What was default directory proposed by UFO: Alien Invasion?

My answer for last one would be:
C:\Program Files\UFOAI-2.2-dev

Mattn:
is aftermath using an ufo.exe, too?

BTAxis:
mattn, every singly UFO game out there uses ufo.exe.
