i made a weapon skills table.

i wrote some code to parse the ufo files and make the table. i plan to run it again when the current data is superseded. nice and easy to maintain.  :)

i felt the wiki was currently a bit confusing - an out of date collection of plans. (tachyons anyone?).

i plan to do some more handy reference tables to compare weapon stats, as a tool for weapon rebalancing (and reference guide). any requests for stats welcome.

look at me! i can code too! (though not as well as matt...)

Cool. Can we see the code? Perhaps it should be included in Trunk so that people can run it when they wish, or even integrated into the 'make doc' process.

glad you like it.

i would want to tweak and document it a bit more before sharing (i'm shy).

its in java (i'm too dumb for c  :?). i don't know if the devs would like their lovely svn contaminated with java. if its wanted, then i will make it available in the future.

there's a big table now. i think it includes all the most significant data from the weapon_*.ufo files.

so far they just have data parsed straight. i plan to do more including calculated stats like damage rates (HP/TU).

melee weapons table, some rebalancing required.

the combat knife is better than the kerrblade, becuase knife TUs are so low.

unless you have less than 13-11 TU you are always better off using stun rod single charge twice, rather than double charge.

kerrblade slash is almost entirely pointless, two stabs are better. unless you only have 14 or 15 TU.

i would like to acknowledge surrealistik's contribution to this. he pointed out a couple of days back on irc, that the knife was the best melee weapon, apart from plasma blade.
