Problem with vista

Hi,

Is anybody able to run the game under vista OS?
I can not find relavant topic, hopefully somebody could help...

i once tested ufo with vista - and it worked

maybe you have to deactivate aero

what is your problem?

I have the same problem. The game doesnt start in vista even after deactivating aero theme.

Also i've tried to change the compability modes (starting from Win 95 to Win 2000).

Any other ideas will be very helpful?

is there a ufoconsole.log in your application data folder of ufo:ai? if yes, send the content via pastebin please

Yes there is such file. Also I've read all posts here reffering  problems with MS Vista. My current version is MS Vista Business Eddition. I tried to run the application with parametters
 "+set vid_fullscreen 0 +set snd_init 0" as you posted in similar topics. Finaly I've download the oldest release from http://mattn.ninex.info/download/ufoai-2.1-dev-win32-r6798.exe
still nothing.

Hi agaian,

I've "found" where the problem is. I'm running Windows Vista Business edition with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphic adapter. But the software drivers for Win Vista Business (32-bit) provided by the vendor doesn't support OpenGL features. So I've downloaded drivers for Windows Vista Enterprise Edition.

The game is perfect ;)

Another tip for people having problems with Vista....

I had similar problems getting the code to run. I loaded it on my laptop, running Intel 945GM video. Nothing was working. Finally figured out that Vista automatically downloads and installs a "newer" driver for Intel video as part of their update process. Go to your laptop maker driver site and download the Intel drivers from THEM. They're listed as an older version, but the difference is the game runs, versus insta-crash.

Next problem I have to figure out is why some game textures aren't skinned when playing the game....

Where did you catch those drivers?
on AMD site I can only find the vista32/vista64 drivers. No Enterprise Edition whatsoever.
I use 8.2 Catalyst and have AERO de-activated
