Usebility advice for Health and inventory screen
« on: April 04, 2007, 11:58:41 am »
Hi there, please take a look at the screenshot
https://zockertown.de/s9y/uploads/games/ufoai/21ufo07.jpg
After clicking at the Icon where the cursor is the health screen pops up. So far so good.
But why have I move the cursor to the close button at the popupwindow?
It should possible to click again at the position where the cursor is left.
The same is true for the Inventory icon.

I believe it closes it, but immediately opens it up again (because one click on such button).

I wonder, should I implement the functionality of pushing out such health/inventory menu when clicking on the button while such menu is already opened?

It may be a solution to position the cursor a bit away from the open button. My problem was, that I did not even try to move to somewhere, I thought I have to use the close button. If the cursor jumps away 50 pix to left it should be no problem for everyone. But if I am the only guy that stumbled over this, so do not change it, never mind :)

But hold on! I've just playing a little around with this. If I'm clicking at the map my soldier walks right away to this point-- no good Idea. So, if you want to change something make the button a toggle or move the cursor over the close button in the popup window, whatever is easier to do.

I personally would prefer the toggle to jumping the cursor to the close button, so if i chose to I could loop through my guys using 1-8 and clicking the button to see their inv/stats.

You can click down near the health and what not if you want, but at that point, you might as well just click 'close'.
