I've just listened to the flashbang sound, and it doesn't really sound like a flash or a bang. More like a zip and a thud. The sounds should be closer together as well, almost simultaneous.

Hope that helps.

Winter

Thanks for the description...  I agonized over the flashbang sound for ages, trying to picture in my mind what a flash sounds like.

I'll try some different ideas tonight and see what I can come up with.

just a quick question:

can't we use all proposed sounds for the kerblae and tel the game to randomly selected on for each hit ?

that may add more sound diversity.

well after listening to firearms sounds; some are good; some others are not appropriate; but for the kerrblade all of them are acceptable; although I have the same preference than Winter (sound 2 is also good for kerrblade I think; i have a better sensation of somone swinging something really nasty)

inquisiteur2, thank you for your feedback...  For the weapon sounds Winter has told me he's quite happy with the ones marked "Commit"...  The draft copies were not acceptable so they are there only for historical reasons.

Just out of curiosity which weapons did you not think were appropriate?

I like the last two the most I think.
Btw. could you provide a breaking window glass sound as well? (If you have enough time of course - there is no sound when you shoot through the window glass).

Draft medikits...

Draft 1: http://www.soundportfolio.com/sounds/misc/medikit.wav
Draft 2: http://www.soundportfolio.com/sounds/misc/medikit2.wav
Draft 3: http://www.soundportfolio.com/sounds/misc/medikit3.wav
Draft 4: http://www.soundportfolio.com/sounds/misc/medikit4.wav

medikit3.wav is the only one I like from those four. The really high-pitched beep in the others is slightly painful to my ears. I wouldn't recommend using it.

Could you make the beginning a bit longer and more forceful and elongate the hiss at the end of medikit3.wav? That would improve the sound and make it distinct enough for us to use it.

Regards,
Winter

http://www.soundportfolio.com/sounds/misc/medikit5.wav ?

I'm away for 2 weeks, so I hope the sounds you have are enough to get you through till the next release.
