The game itself runs fine, except for certain specific issues:

1) At first, the Aircraft screen in the base can be opened and viewed normally, and the 'Soldier Status' screen in the Battlescape (that shows 'pulse', their stats, and the small model) can be opened and closed easily. In addition, there are no problems with hotkeys (such as 'x' to toggle reaction fire')

2) After a small amount of time playing, certain hotkeys begin to act strangely - pressing 'x' to toggle reaction fire will also open the ESC menu. Clicking on the reaction fire button with the mouse will open the ESC menu. Selecting certain weapon fire modes may open the ESC menu.

3) About this time, the Soldier Status screen will become incredibly laggy. If the 'status' button is pressed, the game will hang for anywhere from 5-30 seconds before opening it, and will the FPS will drop to single digits while it remains open.

4) In addition, the Aircraft screen in the base will suffer a similar problem - freezes lasting up to 30 seconds when switching into the Aircraft screen, or permanently (left running for 5+ minutes waiting for a freeze to resolve itself before closing the application through the task manager).

The ufoconsole.log file, although I am not in developer mode, is just over 267mb big, and 8.6 million lines long (consisting of one 54-minute play session). It makes for a somewhat difficult to open file (notepad can't handle it, and notepad++ takes a few seconds to load it up).

I've included a sample .txt with excerpts and descriptions of the ufoconsole.log: the first 696 lines, after which the log repeats the same six lines ~1000 times. Then, lines 7017-7540, after which it repeats until line 1059390, and so on.

Steps to reproduce this issue
Play game as normal - after a short time (<20 minutes), the issues described above will manifest.
