On some battles, the game reloads the battlefield. Then
the aliens, i had seen, are gone or changed their
positions, some soldiers are dead and more than 8
soldiers are on the battleground.

This error happens accidentally.

I can confirme that! In singleplayer mode I had an reconnect
to the server on localhost after an alien grenade missed a
soldier at the boarder of the map and flew out of it.
As result I had 9 instad of 8 soldiers but 2 seemd to be
"clones"

bandobraz seems to be a lucky day for you, just take a look
at the attached file. And yes developer was set to 1 :-)

What happened:
Simply played, and ended my round. I could see an alien
moving and sudenly the map reloaded.
The alien round seemed to be calculated to the end (one
soldier killed 2 aliens with RF as planed) and every
soldier was at his place, but i had 2 more soldiers.
Finishing the mission there were only my 8 soldiers left.
This was the second time this happened to me. Both times it
was at the aliens round.

The ufolog was copied shortly after the bug occured, by
taskswitching. So u don't have to search the interesting
part. If you need the complet log (i finished the mission)
just ask.

System:

I haven't seen this happen for awhile... is it present in
RC5 or latest trunk?

Does anyone know of a way of reproducing it?

I noticed there was a comment here that a large number of
items on the ground help trigger it?

Well I haven't seen any reports of this issue for ages.

It was certainly a problem at one stage but seems to be fixed now (even though I'm not sure what fixed it).

I'm marking this bug as pending... pending further feedback if this is still an issue (if so please reopen it and bump up it's priority!).
